Anders’ brother, Herman, took the farm name and was known as Herman Tyse. There were other brothers and sisters. [Note--spelling of Tysse and linkage to farm name came from Gudrun Nelson and does not match spelling listed on Gudrun's cowpox vaccination and later explanation of this document by Ake Koel.]
In a letter dated Nov. 3, 1987, from the City Archives in Bergen, Anders Nilsen birth year is listed as 1849. The letter also states "Andreas Nilsen (who also used the name Tysse) died May 29th 1904, 54 years old."
In a letter from Ingrid Weatherhead, she confirmed that her mother (Olga Edvarda) said that her father was a baker.
Anders birthplace, Stord, is south of Bergen, in the county of Hordaland. Stord is the head parish.
Gudrun Nelson stated that Anders birthdate was April 20, 1850.
Anders birth record lists father's last name as Colbeinssen.
Gudrun's birth record lists Anders birthyear as 1851.
Anna's birth record lists Anders name as Anders Nilssen Tyse, born 1849.
Olga's birth record lists Anders name as Anders Nilssen.
Helga's birth record lists Anders name as Anders Nilsen Tyse, born 1849.
Record for individuals leaving the parish: 19 April 1866: Andreas Nilsen Hystad, age 18, heading to America. Last name of individual difficult to read, but Hystad is correct and age of 18 would match Andreas birth and confirmation date. The destination of Amerika might have been the ultimate goal.
Olaf Lien believes that his grandfather, Anders Nilsen, worked for a baker named Wulff. Records have been located for a "Lambert Wulf, Bagermaster, Strandgaden 38, Bageribedrift."
[Note by GRLowell: "The Presthaug family at Stord are related to Ingeborg's husband, Anders Nilsen. Ole Presthaug was Ander's half-brother. Ander's father, Nils Kolbeinsen, was married three times. He first married Marthe Johannesdatter and their fourth and last child was Ole Presthaug, who was the father of Lars Presthaug. After Marthe's death, Nils married, second, Kari Larsdtr. No children were born with Kari. After Kari's death, Nils married Anne Ellingsdatter and their second child was Anders. So, Ole Presthaug was Olga's and Gudrun's uncle. Lars Presthaug was Olga and Gudrun's cousin."

According to the Christie genealogy book's footnote page 60, the house was "Nykirkealmendingens Bagergaard's top house". However, the highest house was probably Nykirkealmenning 12, which is registered under the same root number. In 1828 the house or houses belonged to J. Dekke and had a well with a pump both "on the square and one outside the Gate". At least from 1884 the house was owned by baker Hans broader Jordan. Jordan also worked as a biscuit manufacturer, since in 1882 on 6 December, he registered with the company register "Bergen Kjexfabrik" in 3rd row no. 23. Jordan is listed as the owner of the house in the 1888 cadastre, but in 1898 Lambert Wulf is the owner. The Wulff family ran the bakery until the house was demolished in 1957, to make way for a large new building erected by Bergens Sparebank. The house was a double property together with Nykirkealm. 12. The baker's privilege was linked to the bakery Strandgaten 132. Both properties went under the same row number, 3. row no. 23.
