After cremation, the ashes will be scattered at sea. Mr. Phillips died near Drain while returning from a business trip to Coos Bay. He was a sales representative for General Electric Co. He had lived in the Portland area six years. He was born Feb. 4, 1944, in Kalamazoo, Mich. Survivors include his wife, Marcia; four daughters, Laura and Jennifer, both of Beaverton, and Rochelle and Heidi, both of Woodburn; and his parents, George and Mary Norby of Beaverton.”
