Country listed as Mecklenburg. 1905 South Dakota Census card reads: Mrs. Joe Voelsch, age 69, in the US for 19 years. From the Harford Herald, Dec. 23, 1915: “After a week’s illness, Mrs. Mary Voelsch, wife of Joachim Voelsch, an early settler in this county passed away at her home on a farm in Wall Lake township early Saturday evening at the advanced age of 79 years. Besides her husband who is 88 years of age, the deceased is survived by one son, Louis H. Voelsch who has been residing with his parents on the farm and three daughters, Mrs. Wm. Carls of Hartford, Mrs. John Lowell of West Sioux Falls and Mrs. Stangohr of Salem. She had lived with her husband on the same farm for the last 30 years. Funeral services were held from the West Lutheran church near Wall Lake Tuesday afternoon.” Grave stone has first name as “Maria”.
