An interview with Meta Stangohr Schwader (1890-1972) conducted by her nephew Clarence Stangohr (1896-2002) in 1964, at Meta's home northeast of Howard, South Dakota. Contents include: church services, confirmation, World War I and its impact on German immigrants in South Dakota, Liberty Bonds to support the war effort, deaths and funerals on the prairie, Clarence Stangohr's reflections on the deaths of Wilhelm and Caroline Volsch Stangohr, his maternal grandparents.
