      "No Official Report on Presidio Shooting
      No detailed official report will be made public on the death of Sallie Swift at the Presidio. Brigadier-General Frank B. Watson said yesterday, unless the identity of the person who fired the shot that killed the little daughter of Major Eugene L. Swift Saturday is definitely established.
      General Watson said that Lowell Swift, the 11-year old brother, had not changed his first story denying that he had anything to do with his sister's death."

      "Stray Shot is Possible Solution
      San Francisco, March 25. A bullet intended for a "target or for one of the small animals that make their homes in the Presido hillside took the life of 12-year-old Sallie Swift as she lay in her bedroom Saturday, in the opinion of the child's father, Maj. Eugene L. Swift, medical corps and former chief surgeon of the Vancouver barracks, Wash., base hospital.
      The mysterious shooting of the child has puzzled army and civilian authorities here."
