  Notes	Obituary: The Florida Times-Union Obituaries, Jacksonville.com, 14 Mar 2001: "LOWELL - Ruth Gentles Lowell, 79, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2001 in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida after a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Lowell was a 45 year resident of Wellesley, MA was born on September 28, 1921 in Boston. She resided in Kennebunkport, Maine and Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. An avid golfer, 'Ruthie' was a member of Brae Burn Country Club, Webhanet Country Club and the Ponte Vedra Club. Survived by her three children, William F. Lowell III of So. Natick, MA, Scott Lowell of Lake Geneva, WI, Nancy Gibbs of Severna Park, Maryland and 8 grandchildren. Private funeral services will be held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Wellesley, MA followed by a private burial at Forest Hills Cemetery in Boston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St Framingham, MA 01701 or Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
