“Picturesque Skipper Dies of Heart Attack
SEATTLE, Feb. 18. — Captain Ole Larsen, most picturesque and best known of the 200 skippers of Seattle’s halibut fleet, died from a heart attack aboard his schooner, the Pacific, at Kodiak, Alaska, yesterday, the Fishing Vessel Owners’ association was informed today.
Captain Larsen was known as a “highlighliner” of the Seattle fleet and was awarded a silver trophy in Ketchikan in 1929 as “highliner” of all North Pacific fleets. The “highliner” is the skipper bringing in the hargest catch of the season.
His body will be brought here for burial. A widow and two children survive him.”
