    Notes
    • Nowogrod PSA, Lomza Gubernia, Bialystok Province:
      Birth Record:
      Krimkiewicz, Rubin Wolf
      Birth year: 1888
      Father: Joszk
      Mother: Leja Wygoda

From Lauren Krimsky in an email dated 13 Mar 2021:
      “Dear Cousins,
I recently obtained this translation of birth declarations for our grandfather William (Rubin Wolf) and and his brother, Dale’s grandfather Abe, as well as the oldest sister, Raszka from a nice man I met online whose grandmother was Krymkiewicz. He is trying to find a link to our family, but no luck so far.
      Anyway, thought you’d be interested.”:

“1888 Nowogrod Birth Record, Akt 26 - Rubin Wolf Juszkowicz Krymkiewicz

It happened in the town of Nowogrod on August 21st (August 9, Julian), 1888 at 4 P.M. Jew Juszk Krymkiewicz presented himself, a butcher, age 25, living in the village of Miastkowo, in the presence of witnesses - Jews Wigdor Swieczkowski, a laborer, age 45 and Beniamin Mlynarski, a shoemaker, age 46, both living in the town of Nowogrod and showed us a child of male gender, born in the village of Miastkowo on August 14th (August 2, Julian) of this year at noon to his lawful wife Leja née Wygoda, age 20. This child, at circumcision was given the name Rubin Wolf. This record was read aloud to the declarant and witnesses. We alone signed; the father of the child and the witnesses stated that they cannot write.

Document obtained from the Polish State Archives on-line.

      Translated 13 August 2016
      J. Kaiser”

Birth year as per wedding license would be 1890; per 1920 census, 1889; per 1930 census, 1890. It appears as though William settled on “April 15, 1888” as his birthdate, but it is highly likely that this is not a correct “official” date, given the disparity with his birth year among these various records.
