Death Announcement: Hallowell Gazette (Hallowell, ME) Pg. 3, Wednesday, August 17, 1825:
“In Farmington, on the 9th inst. after a distressing confinement of about three days, Reuben Lowell, Jr. aged 21 years. He possessed an honest heart and a good understanding. As a son he was tender and affectionate. As a brother he was kind and obliging. As a friend he was true and constant. In his death his parents and connexions have sustained an irreperable loss. And the little circle of society to which he was endeared by every tie of friendship for the amiableness of his disposition, mourn his early departure to that undiscovered country from whose bourne no traveller returns. He was a believer in the salvation of all men and died in full hopes of an endless immortality beyond the grave, therefore we feel to sympathize with the aflicted in this bereaving allotment of Divine Providence.”
