"Ella Lucas Ella A. Lucas, 88, of 818 S. Walts Ave., died Sunday, at Sioux Valley Hospital, after a brief illness. Ella Miller was born Oct. 30, 1904, on the family homestead near Hartford. The family moved to Sioux Falls in 1914. She married Robert A. Lucas on June 20, 1925, in Sioux Falls. He died on July 26, 1966. They lived in Sioux Falls, where she worked at the J.C. Penney Co. and Crawfords. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She participated in Senior Daybreak at the Bergland Center, and appreciated visits from her Senior Companion, Lenette Matzen. Survivors include one son, Robert C. and his wife, Grace, of Missoula, Mont.; one daughter, Mrs. Harry (Laura) Hoffman of Sioux Falls; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, with burial prior to services at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. today at Miller Funeral Home The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Senior Companion or Senior Daybreak programs."
