Hartford, SD: Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home in Sioux Falls for Clifford Miller, 73, who died in a Sioux Falls hospital Wednesday.
Mr. Miller was born near Sioux Falls March 10, 1903. He retired from farming in 1970. His marriage to Nellie Voelsch took place in Sioux Falls Sept. 22, 1926.
Survivors include the widow; a son, Marvin, Sioux Falls; two grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. George Lowell, Sioux Falls, and Mrs. Al Strobel, Mankato, Minn.”
After WWII, Cliff hosted a displaced person from Estonia named Voldemar Sill. From a record in the Arolsen Archives, Voldemar’s name is listed, with occupation farmer, living with C. Miller, at Hartford, South Dakota. Records stated that he “desires to settle in Canada with sister and nephew, Elmar Valling. Sister’s name was Meralda, born 6 Jan 1926. Voldomars was born on 15 May 1925 in Estonia. He died on 11 Nov 2014 in Elk Grove, Cook cty, Illinois. His father was Samuel Siil. Mother’s name was unknown.
