She was born August 12, 1924 in Portland, Maine, the daughter of Walter Kling and Marion Alexander Kling. Most of her life was spent in New York City, but she returned to Maine in retirement in 1990, having summered on Orr's Island her entire life, where she was a regular fixture on the beadch at the Back Shore.
She had a career with the Campus Planning Department with City University of New York for almost 20 years. Upon her retirement and relocation she took up "full-time" volunteering in the Mid Coast Hospital Intensive Care Unit. She volunteered at Mid Cost Hospital for over 15 years.
She enjoyed reading, playing card games and word games. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church, Brunswick. Most of all she treasured her family, closest friends, and her animals.
She was predeceased by a son, David Herlihy.
A graveside committal service will be announced for the Spring in St. Johns Cemetery, Brunswick.
