Obituary: Pasadena Star-News, Thursday, May 20, 1920:
“Henry Amos Perkins of 1310 Bank Street, South Pasadena, died early Wednesday morning. He was a mining expert of marked ability and was both prominent and popular in mining circles in Pasadena and Los Angeles a few years ago. He was born in Roxbury, Mass., May 6, 1859, lived nine years in Colorado and came to California in July, 1895. He was one of the Sons of the Revolution, one of the St. Andrews Brotherhood, and he was one of two men who gave the first call for a meeting of those interested in organizing an Episcopal Sunday School in South Pasadena. The Sunday School has since become St. James parish. He organized a cavalry company in the Spanish-American war. His company was accepted by the government but did not see active service. He leaves a wife, Lina S. Perkins, and his children, Mrs. Elmore Roney of Mexico City, Mr. Raymond Perkins of Los Angeles, Mrs. Charles Clay of South Pasadena, Mrs. C. V. Dowlin of Pasadena, Mr. L. H. Perkins and the children Lydia, Wentworth, and Louisa. He had been an invalid seven years. The funeral will be private.”
