Rene, his wife, age 26, first married at age 23, born in Minnesota, father born in Minnesota, mother born in Germany.
Article appearing in the “Ada Evening News” May 4, 1954:
“Former Surgeon of 45th in War II Dies in New York”
“New York: Dr. Nesbitt L. Miller, division surgeon of the 45th through eight campaigns in World War II, died yesterday here. He entered a hospital eight days ago for treatment of cancer. A native of Oklahoma City, Miller volunteered at the age of 15 for service in World War I. When he was [illegible], he was in France serving with the [illegible] Infantry Division in the Champagne and Mount Argonna sectors.
He was graduated from the University of Oklahoma Medical School in 1935 and for many years served in various capacities with the county and state Medical Associations.
When the 45th was [illegible] in 1946, Miller became a medical officer. He also became a battalion surgeon and served his way up to division surgeon as a lieutenant colonel.
Funeral services will be in Oklahoma City.”
