Mrs. Margaret Schwebach, aged 88 years, mother of Rt. Rev. Bishop Schwebach, of the La Crosse diocese of the Roman Catholic church, died at the Episcopal residence at 9 o'clock this morning of old age.

Margaret Busch was born in Landscheid in the Grand Duchy of Luxemburg, on March 23, 1823, and she was married to Nicholas Schwebach at Plat, Luxemburg, in 1845. She was the mother of ten children, three of whom died before her death, this morning.

In 1862 her two oldest sons visited America and James, the second son, now bishop of the La Crosse diocese, wrote home that he would not return to Europe but that he would contiue his studies for the priesthood in this country. His good mother wwould not rest until she and the remainder of the family followed him to America, they arriving here in 1866, and settling in Caledonia, Minn. Her husband died in 1879 and since 1879 she has lived with Bishop Schwebach in LaCrosse until her death this morning.

Two sons, three daughters and one grandchild were at her bedside.
