    Notes
    • From The Boston Globe (Boston, Massachusetts) 16 Aug 1907, Fri.
      "BIRDE-TO-BE 68 AND HAPPY
Mrs. Clara A. Beal of Brookline.
To Wed Deacon Bradbury, 77, of Tremont Temple
Declares One is Never to Old to Marry
Declaring that one is never too old to marry, Mrs. Clara A. Beal, 68 years old, a lifelong resident of Brookline, admitted last night that she is to become the bride of Benjamin F. Bradbury, deacon of Tremont temple for the past 25 years, a prominent druggist of Boston for 40 years, twice married and 77 years old. The wedding will take place next Tuesday morning in her Brookline home.
Deacon Bradbury is well known in Boston, both through his religious connections and business affiliations. He retired from business last January. His name is particularly well known in Baptist circles, both on account of his deaconship at Tremont temple and his active participation for many years in partriotic services at Berkeley temple and the old Music hall. His wife died less than two years ago.
Mrs. Beal's husband died 16 years ago. He was a carpenter in Brookline for 30 years. Her son is Henry Francis Beal, a salesman for a well-known Boston goods house. He objects to his mother's coming marriage. But Mrs. Beal said last night:
'Dr. F. C. W. Parker, associate pastor of Tremont temple, and Dr. Albert H. Plumb of Roxbury, a retired Congregationalist minister, are going to marry us next Tuesday morning right here in this house about 10 o'clock.
'Why are we going to have two ministers? Well, as I told my friends, one couldn't tie the know tight enough so we're going to have two tie it.
Deaon Bradbury has made his home in Melrose for the past 35 years. He lives at 296 Main St. with his two daughters, Misses Marion and Grace Bradbury. His only son is Rev. Woodman Bradbury DD, rector of the First Baptst church of Cambridge.
Mrs. Beal is president of the Women's patriotic association. She lives at 87 Walnut st. Brookline, and is apparently exceedingly happy over her approaching marriage."
