“Obituary: William F. Moschell”
“William F. Moschell, son of Carl Moschell and Kathrine (nee Ludwig) was born January 18, 1892 in Cherokee County, Iowa. He was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Hanover, Iowa on March 28, 1892 by Rev. H. Wehking and confirmed on A;pril 8, 196 by Rev. H. Wehking.
On August 25, 1923 he was married to Alma Stangohr at Wentworth, South Dakota by Rev. Ferdinand Oberneu. Mr. and Mrs. Moschell have four sons and four daughters.
He moved to Miner County, South Dakota during 1916 and took up farming. He resided at Roswell, South Dakota until 1949 at which time he moved to Fedora, South Dakota and lived there until the time of his death. He was a veteran of World War I. He passed away suddenly early the morning of December 4, 1956. He reached the age of 64 years, 10 months, and 15 days.
Those left to mourn his departure are his wife, four sons, Alan and Harold of Roswell; William R. and Richard at home; four daughters, Ardath, Mrs. Sterne M. Walker of Sioux Falls; Elda, Mrs. Raman C. Briggs of Rapid City; Deloris, Mrs. Robert B. Nelson of Springfield, and Myrna of Hurley; one sister, Mrs. Augusta Bruggeman of LaMesa, California; and eight grandchildren. His parents, three sisters, two brothers, one half-brother and one half-sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at the home at one o’clock and at Bethany Lutheran Church, Howard, at two o’clock with the Rev. K. B. Valler officiating. Mrs. E. G. Harris was organist and Mrs. M. Zimmerman was soloist and sang two selections which were “Just As I Am” and “Heaven Is My Home.”
Pallbearers were O. H. Buttemeier, Victor J. Eppe, August Grieme, Henry Schmit, Clarence Schwader, Ferdinand Schwader.
Military rites were conducted at the grave.
Mr. Moschell was laid to rest in the Graceland Cemetery of Howard.”
