      "When a lad of a boy he came with his father into the vicinity of Farmington, Franklin, Maine; settled first in Wilton, but returned to Farmington; purchased part of a river lot No. 13, west side of his brother-in-law, Samuel Eames or Ames, and there spent his active life as a farmer.
      He was a man of noblest character."

      "Reuben Lowell, Jr., came into the country as a lad with his father. He first settled in Wilton, but returned to Farmington, purchased of his brother-in-law, Samuel Eames, a part of river-lot No. 13, west side, and there spent his active life. His last days were passed with his children in Abbot, where he died, Sept. 20, 1841-- Mr. Lowell md., in 1795, Betsey Smith, who d. Aug. 6, 1827, aged 52 years; md. (2) Apr. 25, 1830, Sally Willard. Nine children."

    Sally Lowell was Reuben Lowell's second wife. They married on 10 Nov 1807. Reuben Lowell died on 1 June 1824. On 9 May 1825, Sally purchases outright her late husband's home farm in Chesterville from all of the children and their descendants born to Reuben Lowell and his first wife, Priscilla.
