"Mrs. Clarence Newson
Kittery-Mrs. Alice Linscott Newson, 78, of 14 Newmarch çSt., wife of Clarence G. Newson and a lifelong resident here, died yesterday at a Portsmouth nursing home.
A native of this town, Mrs. Newson was born Nov. 20, 1876, the daughter of the late Calvin and Permelia (Adams) Gatchell. She was a member of the Second Methodist Church and its Ladies' Circle, the York Rebekah Lodge of Kittery and the Fix-It Club.
Besides her husband, survivors include a son, Kenneth Newson; a daughter, Mrs. Doris Chapman, and three grandchildren, all of Kittery."

"Mrs. Clarence G. Newson
Kittery-Funeral Services for Mrs. Alice L. Newson, 78, of 14 Newmarch St., wife of Clarence G. Newson, were held Saturday at the Second Methodist Church here.
The Rev. Daniel Harlan, pastor, conducted the service.
Included in the attendance were members of the church, the Ladies' Circle headed by Mrs. Nelson Webber, president, and York Rebekah Lodge led by Mrs. Florence A. Riley noble grand.
Burial was in the family lot in Orchard Grove Cemetery with committal prayers by Mr. Harlan.
Bearers were William Maby, Leland L. Riley Jr., Donald Casey and Albert Moulton Jr.
Pre-burial services were conducted Friday at Buckminster Chapel, Portsmouth, by officers of York Rebekah Lodge. They were Mrs. Riley Mrs. Gertrude Burrill, vice grand, and Mrs. Amelia Blaney, chaplain."
