      On Nov. 8, 1920, Karen Vik returned from a visit to Norway on the Bergensfjord. Her immigration record reads as follows--she was 58 and married. She read and wrote Norwegian. Her last permanent address was Dell Rapids, South Dakota. Her neaearest relative in Norway was her sister Kristine O. Vik, Jennestad, VesterÅlen. Her final destination was Dell Rapids, S. D. She had a ticket for that destination. She had paid for her passage and had either $25 or $34 on her possession. (The $25 was crossed out and $34 was written in). She had been in the U.S. from 1904-1919 in Dell Rapids, Minnehaha Cty, South Dakota, R. 1, Box 44, at her son's, Arthur Vik. She does not intend to return to Norway; her length of stay is permanent. Her health is good. She is 5' 4", fair complexion, brown hair, and blue eyes. She was born in Dverberg, Norway.

      Newspaper obituary from Evelyn's files cut from a Seattle paper (no date)-- "Funeral services for Mrs. Karen Vik, 77 years old, who died yesterday at her home, 7350 Jones Ave. N.W., will be held at 3 o'clock Saturday at the Pheasant-Wiggen Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pacific Lutheran Cemetery. Mrs. Vik, born in Norway, came to the U.S. in 1904 and to Seattle in 1928. She was the widow of Andrew Vik. Surviving are 2 sons, Kalmar and Arthur Vik, Seattle; 3 daughters, Mrs. Enga Nelson, South Dak., and Mrs. Ranghild Johnson of Iowa, and a brother, Benjamin Hansen of Canada."

      Obituary from Dell Rapids paper (no date)--The following obituary of Mrs. Karen Vik of Seattle, a former resident of Dell Rapids, was taken from a Seattle paper--Burial service for Mrs. Karen Vik was held from the Pheasent-Wiggin mortuary May twenty-first. The Rev. O. L. Haavik, pastor of the Ballard First Lutheran Church, officiated, and Magnus Peterson sang. Internment in the Pacific Lutheran Cemetery. Karen Margarete Vik was born in Andoy, VesterÅlen, Norway, April 3, 1862, of parents, Mr. & Mrs. Hans Hansen. The Vik family came to Dell Rapids, Minnehaha Cty, South Dakota in 1904. After the passing of her husband, Mrs. Vik came to Seattle in 1938. After a prolonged illness Mrs. Vik passed away on Wed. the 18th of May, at the age of 76 years. She is survived by 2 sons, Kalmer and Arthur Vik, 3 daughters, Mrs. Inga Nelson, Seattle, Mrs. Helga Johnson, SD, and Mrs. Ragnhild Johnson of Iowa; 6 grandchildren, Kelfred Carlson, Evelyn Johnson, Betty & Shirley Nelslson, Evelyn Marie Johnson and George Lee Johnson, a great-grandchild, Even Carlson; a brother, Ben Hanson, lives in Hauxly, Canada. Mrs. Karen Vik was a beloved member of the Norwegian Ladies Aid of the Ballard First Lutheran Church, and during her few years in our midst endeared herself to many because of her fine Christian character.

      At the time of her death, she lived at 7350 Jones Ave. N.W., Seattle, Washington.
