“Head-on Crash Injures Four Near Bingham”
“Bingham Canyon--Four men Monday were recovering from a head-on collision of a truck and passenger car near the mouth of Bingham Canyon Sunday at 1 a.m.
INJURED: Burt A. Gottfredson, 25, Circleville, Piute County, received abrasions and bruises of the forehead, chest, wrists, and puncture wound of arm In “satisfactory” condition in Salt Lake Veterans Hospital.

“Tragedy struck two members of the same family in widely separated mishaps on Utah highways more than 200 miles apart.
Mr. Gottfredson is a son of Orion Gottfredson, 56, who was killed Sunday in a separate accident near Circleville.
Mr. Gottfredson was a passenger in a westbound car driven by Wayne Chamberlain. Phillip Benale was a passenger in an eastbound pickup truck driven by Alvin Toleman. The two vehicles met head-on in the west-bound traffic lane. Citations are reported pending.”
