  Notes	“RALPH GREYSTOKE, Knt., 3rd Lord Greystoke, Warden of the East and West Marches, Constable of Lochmaben Castle, Justice, Steward, and Keeper of the lordship of Annandale, son and heir, born and baptized at Kirky Ravensworth, Yorkshire 18 Oct. 1353 (aged 46 in 1403). He married KATHERINE CLIFFORD, daughter of Roger de Clifford, Knt., 5th Lord Clifford (descendant of King John), by Maud (descendant of King John), daughter of Thomas de Beauchamp, Knt., K.G., 11th Earl of Warwick (descendant of Geoffrey Plantagenet) ...They had four sons, John, William, Knt., Thomas, Knt., and Ralph, Knt., and two daughters, Maud and Joan. He was summoned to Parliament from 28 Dec. 1375 to 5 Oct. 1417, by writs directed Radulpho baroni de Graysystok’. He served in the Scottish wars and was taken prisoner by George, Earl of Dunbar, in a skirmish at Horseridge near Glendale ward, Northumberland in 1380. In 1397 he and Katherine received a papal indult for plenary remission. He was one of the Lords who assented in Parliament 23 Oct. 1399 to the secret imprisonment of King Richard II. His wife, Katherine, died 23 April 1413. SIR RALPH GREYSTOKE, 3rd Lord Greystoke, died 6 April 1418.”«s79»
