"Salem Pair Celebrate Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Cook of Salem celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sunday, May 10, at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Rhodaback, with a dinner for members of their family being held.
Adelia Voelsch and Joe Cook were married at Hartford, S.Dak., May 14, 1908. Henry Voelsch, brother of Mrs. Cook who was best man at the wedding was here for the celebration.
Mr. and Mrs. Cook moved from S. Dak. to California, in 1928 and in 1929 moved to Eugene. The following year the family re-moved to Salem and have lived there since.
The children of the honored couple are three daughters, Mrs. Stella Webb, Portland; Hazel Rhodaback, Albany and Miss Alice Cook of Salem. They also have eight grandchildren. Thirteen relatives attended the dinner.
The four-tiered anniversary cake was baked and served by Mrs. Rhodaback. Golden shaded iris formed the decorations."

"Joseph Cook
Joseph Cook, 85, 2335 Maple St. NE, died Monday at a Salem nursing home.
A resident of Salem since 1931, he was employed as a carpenter at the State Fairgrounds until retiring 12 years ago.
Surviving are widow Adelia, Salem; daughters Alice Cook, Salem, Hazel Rhodaback, Eugene, and Stella Webb, Twin Rocks; sisters Mrs. Bertha Kelso in Pennsylvania, Mrs. Anna Dickey, Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Millie Voelsch, Sioux Falls, S.D.; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Pasator L. H. Steinhoff officiating. Interment will be at Belcrest Memorial Park. W. T. Rigdon mortuary is in charge."
